A Nonlinear Abr Flow Control with Feed-forward Compensation for Atm Networks
نویسنده
چکیده
In this paper the problem of flow control in fast, connection oriented communication networks supporting traffic generated by multiple sources is considered. The network is modelled as a dynamic system with different delay times. A nonlinear strategy governing the behaviour of the sources is proposed. The strategy combines Smith principle and feed-forward compensation with the conventional relay type controller. The strategy guarantees no cell loss and full bottleneck link utilisation in the controlled network. Furthermore, the feed-forward compensation helps to achieve better quality of service in the controlled network. Copyright © 2005 IFAC

Numerical treatment for nonlinear steady flow of a third grade fluid in a porous half space by neural networks optimized
In this paper, steady flow of a third-grade fluid in a porous half space has been considered. This problem is a nonlinear two-point boundary value problem (BVP) on semi-infinite interval. The solution for this problem is given by a numerical method based on the feed-forward artificial neural network model using radial basis activation functions trained with an interior point method. ...
متن کاملA Fuzzy Logic Feedback Controller for ABR Traffic Management in ATM Networks
This paper presents a fuzzy logic feedback explicit-rate controller for the management of available bit rate (ABR) traffic in asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) networks. In our proposed flow control scheme, the switches will monitor the traffic on each link and feed periodic information to the fuzzy controller. The information is used by the controller to calculate an explicit cell rate to be se...
متن کاملStastical-learning Control of an Abr Explicit Rate Algorithm for Atm Switches
This paper illustrates the application of statistical-learning control results for several different Available Bit Rate (ABR) congestion control algorithms. The ABR service category is used with Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) networks to handle highly bursty and varying data applications. ATM was selected by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for Broadband Integrated Service Digi...
متن کاملRejection of the Feed-Flow Disturbances in a Multi-Component Distillation Column Using a Multiple Neural Network Model-Predictive Controller
This article deals with the issues associated with developing a new design methodology for the nonlinear model-predictive control (MPC) of a chemical plant. A combination of multiple neural networks is selected and used to model a nonlinear multi-input multi-output (MIMO) process with time delays. An optimization procedure for a neural MPC algorithm based on this model is then developed. T...
متن کاملAn integrated switching strategy for ABR traffic control in ATM networks
In this paper we extend earlier results on combined control problem of connection admission, flow rate, and bandwidth allocation (capacity, service-rate) in ATM based networks under nonstationary conditions to the multiple node path case. We propose a nonlinear switching strategy, and show that it is effective in controlling a mix of ABR and Guaranteed traffic. We derive bounds on the mix betwe...
